This was the hat that matched the scarf I crocheted for the tire.

I needed a tire and some repairs to the cooling system of my van last October. I was just sitting on my front porch when the security officer came by my apartment. He offered to get me a tire for my van and I agreed to crochet a scarf for him to give to his wife as a Christmas gift. After he replaced the worn tire for a better one then I was able to go get a water pump.
Later in the week I got up very early to follow him to his residence. I was greeted with a warm greeting from his whole family and even from some of the barn yard animals. After many hours of working on the van and a few more parts later I was asking, “How much do I owe you?”. The answer was two black sweaters for Christmas presents.
The sweater in the picture is the one I made for another woman in 2011. It is the same basic style of the one of the black sweaters I crocheted. I also crocheted a pullover style and a red scarf for the same young lady. When I was almost finished with the second black sweater I was then asked to crochet one more. I was asked how much I wanted but I then remembered that the wife of the security officer was an author. I asked for some copies of a book she wrote. She has autographed them for my daughters. We are all happy with the arraignments made that way.
